It's always a treat when a beloved character from one series pops up in another – this sounds like a good trilogy to get stuck into, we can all do with the Caribbean vibe right now!

This series sounds great, I've never heard of it before but I really enjoy mysterious novels. I love that it's set in the Carribean, I too have many found memories there.

Sounds great. Love a good trilogy and at least the setting might take my mind off rainy Yorkshire!

Thanks Graham! Rainy and windy today in Vancouver too!

Sounds like a good romance book, not a travel book as I thought firstly.
Great that you enjoyed the characters..

I've never heard of this series before but I have heard of Elin Hilderbrand and hope to pick up a book of hers in the future. I love the idea of escaping to the Caribbean right now so might start with this series or take your recommendation and try the Winter series.

I love it when characters from one series turn up in another. It's a shame that this wasn't quite as good as you were hoping but it still sounds like a delightful read and having a satisfying conclusion helps make up for it. Great review!

This sounds like a great book to read. I'm definitely drawn to books that are set in hit countries at the moment. I think its due to the lack of travelling we can do.

I think so too! Thanks for your comment!

I haven’t heard of this series but your summarization of the family thinking the father/husband died in a helicopter crash in the Caribbean when in reality he has a whole second family!! What a plot twist! This series sounds interesting, and definitely sounds like it would be an interesting journey to follow the journey of the mom and sons learning what really happened to him.

Might just have to add this to my goodreads to borrow it from the library – libraries are the best at always having the most up to date books!

Loved this review and your honest opinions. The book sounds great, although it would have been gard to catch up since it's a book series. I plan to go to the Carribean soon and I hope the book told a beautiful story about it. ?? Thanks for sharing this post with us! xx

Ooh, you had me at suspicious death. Does that play a big role in the plot or is it more focused on the drama with the second family? Either way, sounds like a great series! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙂

  17. thathappyreader

I’d say both Hayley- the suspicious death provides the context . The second family is probably more of the focus though. Thanks!

This sounds like a great read. I'm glad you were satisfied with the ending, there's nothing worse than when it all comes crashing down and leaves you with more questions. Is sounds like a plot I could really enjoy too, it's a shame you didn't find this as engaging as you'd hoped x

Love that this book transports us to the sunny sides of the ocean! I like audio books that are beautifully narrated, and this one sounds like it has an amazing voice behind the story.

My sister loves literary fiction that comes in a series, so I will be recommending this to her. Thanks for sharing!
