The 10 Original Christmas Tag Questions

When Do Your Decorations go up?
We always decorate our home sometime during the last two weeks of November.  I like to have things up for several weeks which helps me get into the Christmas spirit.

Who is the Scrooge of your Family or Friendship group
I'm lucky enough to not know a total Scrooge although my husband hates to shop and tells me to buy myself something for every birthday and Christmas!

If money were no object, how and where would you spend Christmas?
Honestly, it's whereever my extended family can gather.  Unfortunately, we aren't able to do that this year because of COVID restrictions in my area.

What festive film to you HAVE to watch every festive season?
I don't really have any particular one movie but I have several that I enjoy every few years.  I watched Serendipity this year and fell in love with it again for the fourth time!

Who do you find the hardest to buy presents for?
Definitely my parents, but I looked at it a little different this year.  They've had a difficult year with health challenges so my sister and I decided to do a 12 days of Christmas for them this year which involved a small gift (Christmas books for example) dropped off and a short socially distanced visit.  It's been appreciated and have friends that call them to find out what they received that day!  It was much easier to buy a small gift, cook a meal or bring some baked goods than it is to try and think of a larger gift.

Would you rather buy lots of little presents for a hamper, or buy one big/main gift?
I think I'd rather buy lots of little presents as I did for my parents this year.

What did you leave out for Santa when you were a child?
Cookies and Milk.

Where did you spend last Christmas?
We spent the morning at home and then went to my parents for a large family dinner.

What Christmas song makes you cringe?
I have two!  Paul McCartney's Wonderful Christmas time (boring) and John Lennon's So This is Christmas (depressing).  I actually am a fan of their other music though!

If you could be a character in a Holiday movie, who would it be and why?
I'd choose to be Sara Thomas in Serendipity - it's such a love story!

Jeanine's two questions

What's your favourite thing to eat on Christmas Day?
Everything!  It's the one day a year I allow myself to indulge!  I start with cinnamon rolls freshly baked Christmas morning, turkey dinner with all the fixings for dinner and squares and cookies for dessert!

Have you and your family ever bought matching clothes or pyjamas to wear while opening gifts?
Unfortunately no.  If I would have had a daughter I definitely would!

I Nominate

Anyone who has yet to be tagged that would like to participate!

My two questions

What was your favourite Christmas animated show growing up?

What colour lights does your Christmas tree have?

That was a lot of fun!  Despite this year being a stressful one for all of us, I feel blessed to have support from family, friends and from this community. Although this Holiday is sure to be  different than what we are used to for many of us, my hope is that each of you will experience joy this season and create new happy memories!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! Stay safe everyone!

  3. Loved your answers!! My favorite animated holiday show, still, is the Charlie Brown Christmas show. I missed seeing it this year, but listened to the music. And I don't have a tree this year. I'm allergic to plastic, but usually, I will at least have a small one, somewhere. Next year, I will. Thanks so much for participating! Merry Christmas!!

  7. Merry Christmas!!

Love this Christmas tag!! Haha it is great when you don't know the Scrooge of the group. Most guys don't like shopping, so that makes sense. At least you get to pick out what you truly want! Pretty cool that you did a 12 days of Christmas themed gift!! Thanks for sharing!

  11. Loved these answers! I also love doing smaller gifts then a big one. I'm tired of seeing ipads, iphones, etc as something someone opens. It's too much and devalues the Christmas magic over being materialistic! I'm glad you had a fantastic Christmas xo

  12. Merry Christmas! I love the idea of the 12 days of Christmas you did for your parents. What a great idea! I always think there's so much stress and pressure in giving big gifts, but I kind of like this strategy. Might be worth a try. Thanks for the inspiration!
