As usual great book review. I'm not sure if this book is for me. I would love to read about strong female characters however – and no offense to anyone – the historical setting bores me sometime.

Great review. I know they say you should never judge a book by its cover but I instantly could tell it would be a book I would enjoy. I enjoy reading historical fiction that is set in wartime. The books I choose are very rarely gory but show a strength of community is difficult times. I'm definitely adding this book to my TBR list.

Another great review, Jodie. TBH it's probably not the sort of book I'd pick up but the historical element does sound intriguing!

Thorough review, and I appreciate the various you considered in writing it. I'm also not a fan of historically set war stories, but the occasional one does warrant the read and is worth it. Thanks for sharing.

Is the title of the book a deliberate play in the Band of Brothers book and TV series? I didn't know US women were involved in world war one, didn't America only join the last year of the war?

Thank you for your comment. The story is based an actual group of civilian women from Smith College.

I haven’t heard of this book or author before. I usually when I pick books I tend to stick to romance or like chick flick style like some Sophie Kinsella books. But I feel like I need to branch out because I would like them or maybe even enjoy a different genre.
Thank you for sharing a great review. I have taken a screenshot of this post, so I can remember to pop this book in the recommendations section in my bullet journal.
