Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the Jill at Breaking the Spine. So let me introduce you my Can’t Wait Wednesday #147 pick. Click on the book’s cover to add it to your Goodreads shelf (opens in a new window).

Length: 368 pages/12 hours.
Narrators: Mia Hutchison-Shaw, Stephanie Einstein & 2 more.
Genre: Women’s Fiction.
Series: A Lowcountry Tale #2
From The Publisher:
Violet Adams is the perfect, youngest child in a family of loud, passionate women on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina. As the sweet, traditional one, she’s always been the steady hand in her family but after a sudden breakup and subsequent tragedy, she doesn’t know who she is anymore.
Aly Knox, Violet’s best friend, is a young influencer still struggling with the loss of her mother and adjusting to joining Violet in Southern living. With her best friend’s help, Violet is determined to break out of her shell—and who she thought she was—no matter what. And what better place to look for success, meaning, and possibly love than the Lowcountry of South Carolina?
Why I Can’t Wait To Read The Violet Hour:
I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s debut novel My Magnolia Summer, the first book in this series, and I’m eager to read more about Violet and her best friend Aly. On a personal note, I was also a fan of her late mother Dorothea Benton Frank’s books, and I love that Victoria continues the tradition of writing heartfelt stories about women in the Lowcountry, just as her mother did.

Thanks Jonetta.
Rebecca (the Farm Wife)
I loved Dottie Frank, even got to meet/have lunch with her – and was scheduled for a second one, before her untimely departure.
I struggled with My Magnolia Summer a bit, feeling like she was trying too hard to mimic her mom – but this one sounds so good, and I’m definitely going to give it a read 🙂

What a pretty sunset. Hope you love this one. At least you don’t have long of a wait. The one I featured this week doesn’t come out until April 2026!

Nice choice Jodie. I wondered if she was as good an author as her mother. Nice that she writes the same style of books. I hope you enjoy this one.
