This book club chose “Wild Dark Shore” by Charlotte McConaghy as their November 2025 pick.

Summary:
On a remote island near Antarctica, Dominic Salt and his three children are the last caretakers of Shearwater, home to the world’s largest seed bank. Their isolated existence is upended when a mysterious woman named Rowan washes ashore during a violent storm. As the Salts nurse her back to health, fragile bonds begin to form, offering each of them a glimpse of hope and connection. But both Rowan and Dominic harbour dangerous secrets—sabotaged radios, a hidden grave, and unspoken grief hint at darker truths beneath the island’s surface. As tempests rage and trust frays, they must decide whether to protect one another and the seeds that symbolize humanity’s future, or be consumed by the wild, dark shore that surrounds them.
Good Morning America’s Book Club’s pick:
The GMA Book Club is officially called “Cover to Cover” and was started in the Fall of 2019. Their selections highlight diversity and books are chosen from both fiction and non-fiction genres. The book club chose “Wreck” by Catherine Newman as their November 2025 pick.

Narrator: Helen Laser.
Genre: Women’s Fiction
Summary:
Two years after their Cape Cod vacation, Rocky and her family are back home in Western Massachusetts, navigating the chaos of everyday life. Rocky remains her anxious, nostalgic, and funny self, juggling her marriage to Nick, their daughter Willa’s return from college, their son Jamie’s new job in New York, and her widowed father Mort moving in. Life feels comfortingly ordinary—until Rocky becomes fixated on a local accident and a possible medical issue that threaten to upend their fragile equilibrium. With warmth, humour, and insight, Catherine Newman captures the messy beauty of family, the weight of uncertainty, and the bittersweet truth that those we love don’t always fit neatly into the versions we hope for.
