In the days leading up to Christmas, both must confront love, loss, and the timeless truth that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
My Thoughts:
If you’re looking for a lovely Christmas story to cozy up with this holiday season, The Christmas Ring is a wonderful choice. This heartfelt tale follows military widow Vanessa Mayfield, who has spent years searching for her family’s long-lost heirloom ring. When she meets Ben Miller, a kind and thoughtful antiques dealer, their shared quest to find the missing ring leads to something neither of them expected—hope, healing, and the possibility of love.
Vanessa, who pours her heart into organizing an annual military Christmas dance, never imagined she’d find love again after losing her husband. Her daughter Sadie is away at college, unaware that her mother’s heart might be opening to someone new. When Ben uncovers shocking details about the ring’s history, he’s faced with a difficult truth that sets the story on an emotional and redemptive path just before Christmas.
This book tugged at my heartstrings from start to finish. I loved the simplicity of the story—it’s tender, easy to follow, and filled with genuine emotion. Karen Kingsbury captures love, loss, and faith in such a relatable way that you can’t help but feel invested in Vanessa and Ben’s journey. It’s no surprise that this touching story was adapted into a film; it truly reads like a Hallmark Christmas movie in the best possible way.
The Narration:
I listened to the audiobook version, beautifully narrated by Paige McKinney. Her gentle tone and expressive narration brought warmth and sincerity to every scene, making it a joy to listen to.
Final Thoughts:
The Christmas Ring is a timeless reminder that sometimes, when we least expect it, love finds its way back to us—and that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also.

Thank you Jonetta.
Rebecca (the Farm Wife)
I finished the audiobook this week, and yes – the narrator did such a fabulous job with the reading!
I am hoping I’ll be able to catch the movie, I think it’ll translate better to the screen than it did as a read (I got pulled out of the story a few times). But definitely a very emotional punch of a festive read 🙂

I look forward to seeing the movie too Rebecca but I won’t be going to a theatre to see it.

Lovely review, Jodie. As I was reading your review, I was thinking that it would make a good movie, so now I will have to watch for it. I won’t be going to the theatre to see it either, though.
