Let’s Give ‘Em Pumpkin to Talk About is a small-town fall romance about a prickly textile artist, a sunshiny neighbour, and a pumpkin patch that brings them together.

Length: ~8 hours.
Narrator: Adelaide Fernport.
Genre: Romance

Summary:
Textile artist Sadie Fox returns to her hometown of Pea Blossom, Indiana, to save her father’s pumpkin patch and finally earn his respect by growing a prizewinner for the state fair—only to have a herd of wild hogs destroy her chances. Enter Josh Thatcher, a charming tech millionaire-turned-gourd farmer and her frustratingly attractive neighbour, who offers to help even though they’re competitors. As sparks fly and a storm-fueled kiss changes everything, Sadie must decide if what’s blossoming between them is just attraction or something deeper—something bigger than her record-breaking pumpkin, and maybe even bigger than the secret Josh is keeping.
My Thoughts:
When I first read the synopsis for Let’s Give ‘Em Pumpkin to Talk About, I thought I’d found the perfect cozy fall read. A prickly heroine running her father’s pumpkin patch, a sunshiny neighbour who just happens to be a tech millionaire-turned-gourd-grower, and the promise of small-town charm mixed with autumn vibes—what’s not to love? Unfortunately, the story didn’t quite live up to my hopes.
On the positive side, Isabelle Popp does capture some lovely small-town, fall-inspired moments. The annual fair and the apple-tasting scene really drew me in, and I could feel myself settling into the festive atmosphere of Pea Blossom, Indiana. Those were the moments where the book shone for me, and I wished there had been more of them.
Where it fell flat was with the main character, Sadie. She’s described as edgy and prickly, but I found her surly, sweary personality tough to warm up to. On top of that, the romance leaned heavily on frequent open-door steamy scenes, leaving very little room for story or character development in between. I ended up skipping through big sections, and at one point nearly stopped listening altogether. Simply put, this one wasn’t my cup of tea.
The Narration:
That said, I did enjoy the audiobook narration by Adelaide Fernport. She gave a wonderful performance, capturing Sadie’s voice and adding warmth to the story where the writing didn’t quite work for me.
Final Thoughts:
In the end, Let’s Give ‘Em Pumpkin to Talk About just wasn’t for me, though readers who enjoy a steamier romance with lots of banter might have a better time with it. I’ll happily keep my fall vibes going elsewhere—with a pumpkin spice latte in hand.

The cover does not say steamy to me, so I would probably have been surprised too.
