The Must-Read Women’s Fiction Publishing in Summer 2025 List:
Publishing The Week of June 24:
Sunny Greene is thirty-five, newly divorced, and dreading the thought of attending her brother’s wedding alone—especially after a frustrating attempt to find a flattering plus-sized swimsuit at Bergdorf Goodman leaves her in tears. But hitting rock bottom sparks a fresh start: with a thriving PR business, a stylish Chelsea apartment, two lovable dogs, and a loyal circle of friends, Sunny decides it’s time to embrace her body, reclaim her confidence, and dive into dating. As she juggles two very different suitors—Dennis, the sweet and grounded mailman, and Ted, a wealthy investor interested in both her and her new size-inclusive swimwear brand—her ex unexpectedly reappears, complicating matters even further. With wit, warmth, and a Carrie Bradshaw–esque flair, Sunny’s journey is one of self-love, reinvention, and the messy beauty of starting over.
When Sybil Rain cashes in her long-expired honeymoon vouchers for a solo escape to the tropical Starling Ranch Inn, the last thing she expects is to run into her ex-fiancé Jamie—who left her at the altar and is now scoping out the resort for his family’s business, accompanied by a stunning “colleague.” In a flustered attempt to save face, Sybil claims she’s there with her boyfriend—just as her second ex-fiancé, Sebastian, conveniently arrives and plays along. As Sybil navigates awkward run-ins, romantic misfires, and the emotional baggage of three failed engagements—including the mysterious first, Liam—she begins to question whether she’s finally ready to move forward and open her heart to a lasting love.
