What If I Never Get Over You is a moving story of serendipity, longing, and second chances in love.

Length: ~11 hours / 416 pages.
Narrator: Anna Acton.
Genre: Romance

Summary:
Ellie never expected to fall in love while traveling in Europe, but three passionate days in Lisbon with Ash created a bond she couldn’t forget, even when fate kept them apart in Madrid. Six years later, still haunted by his memory, Ellie seeks a fresh start as a gardener on a Welsh estate—only for Ash to reappear and force her to confront the possibility that their story isn’t over, and that the universe may have destined them for more.
My Thoughts:
Three days in Lisbon. That’s all it takes for Ellie to fall for Ash, a man she never expected to meet but can’t seem to forget. When they part ways, planning to reunite in Madrid, fate intervenes—Ellie arrives late, and Ash is gone. Six years later, the memory of their time together still lingers, even as Ellie starts a new chapter working as a gardener on a grand estate in Wales. And then, just when she least expects it, Ash reappears.
I love a story with a touch of serendipity, and this one has it in spades. The Lisbon setting and whirlwind connection pulled me right in, and I was rooting for Ellie and Ash from the start. When they reconnect years later, though, things aren’t as simple as they once were. Ash is not the same man Ellie remembers—at least not on the surface—and that shift adds complexity and tension to their relationship.
If I’m honest, the second half of the book dragged a little for me, as the layers of complication started to weigh down the story. Still, Toon captures the yearning between these two beautifully, and the family pressure Ash faces gives the romance more emotional depth.
The Narration:
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Anna Acton, and really enjoyed her performance. Her use of different accents and her warm tone added richness to the story, making the emotional beats land even more strongly.
Final Thoughts:
What If I Never Get Over You is a heartfelt, serendipitous love story about timing, second chances, and the forces that pull people together—and sometimes keep them apart.
