Summary:
New York Times bestselling author and psychic medium Laura Lynne Jackson explores the idea that communication with loved ones who have passed—and with the universe itself—is a gift available to everyone. Drawing on her own experiences and those of others, Jackson shares moving stories of meaningful signs, synchronicities, and moments of connection that bring comfort, clarity, and hope, from unexpected animal encounters to perfectly timed songs and symbols. By weaving the mystical into everyday life, she encourages readers to learn how to ask for and recognize signs, find meaning in confusion, and open themselves to love, joy, and a deeper sense of interconnectedness, offering a message that is both deeply reassuring and quietly transformative.
My Thoughts:
Signs: The Secret Language of the Universe by Laura Lynne Jackson is one of those books that seems to arrive exactly when you need it. I first became aware of Jackson after watching an Oprah video podcast in which she interviewed both the author and several of her clients—people who had found profound comfort through connections with loved ones who had passed. Having recently lost my own father, I picked up this book hoping for reassurance, and I found it to be both deeply comforting and genuinely inspirational. At its core, Signs is built on the belief that while Jackson’s abilities as a psychic medium are remarkable, they are not exclusive. She suggests that we are all capable of understanding the “secret language of the universe” if we are open, attentive, and willing to trust what we receive.
This message resonated with me on a personal level. My own grandmother was a psychic—someone who dreamt about events involving strangers and could read teacups with unsettling accuracy. She refused to read for family members, however, having foreseen death more than once in those cups. That family history made me especially open to Jackson’s ideas, and I appreciated how clearly she explains the conditions needed to recognize signs from those who have crossed over. Still, it is the stories—tender, uncanny, and profoundly human—that form the heart of this book. From symbolic animal encounters to perfectly timed music and small, unmistakable moments of reassurance, these accounts bring the mystical into everyday life in a way that feels accessible rather than abstract.
The Narration:
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Jackson herself, and I can’t imagine a better choice. Her calm, compassionate voice made the stories even more compelling and added an extra layer of intimacy to the experience.
Final Thoughts:
Signs is not about blind belief; it’s about openness, connection, and finding meaning where there once was confusion. I adored this book and finished it feeling lighter, more hopeful, and more attentive to the quiet possibilities around me. I’ll absolutely be reading more from Laura Lynne Jackson in the months ahead.
