Snowflakes Over Starr’s Fall delivers cosy small-town charm, festive sparks, and a predictable but comforting holiday romance.

Length: 280 pages / ~ 10 hours
Narrator: Kate Handford.
Genre: Romance

Summary:
Jenna, longtime resident and owner of the town’s general store, is content with her quiet life—until Jack Wexler, a disgruntled ex–New York investment banker adjusting to small-town living, storms into her shop demanding smoked salmon. Their rocky first encounter sets off sparks neither expected, but when they’re thrown together to organize Starr’s Fall’s Winter Wonderland parade, the frosty tension begins to thaw. As twinkling lights and holiday magic fill the air, Jenna and Jack must decide whether their unlikely attraction is just seasonal—or the start of something lasting.
My Thoughts:
Snowflakes Over Starr’s Fall is a cosy return to a small-town series I’ve come to really enjoy. Starr’s Fall once again delivers all the charming, snow-dusted vibes, and in this third instalment the focus shifts to Jenna, a lifelong resident who has run the town’s general store for over a decade, and Jack, a former New York investment banker who arrives in town seeking a much quieter life after a heart attack.
Their first meeting—sparked by Jack’s outrage over the lack of smoked salmon—is anything but romantic, setting the stage for a classic enemies-to-lovers dynamic that unfolds against a festive Christmas backdrop. When they’re thrown together as co-organizers of the Winter Wonderland parade, both Jenna and Jack begin to lower their guard. Jenna is wary of repeating past mistakes with wealthy men who don’t stick around, while Jack is navigating not only a new town but an entirely new way of living.
What starts as an opposites-attract romance gradually reveals how much they actually have in common. Predictable? Yes—but in the best possible way, making for a comforting and lovely holiday read. I also appreciated catching up with familiar characters from earlier books, though this story works perfectly well as a standalone.
The Narration:
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Kate Handford, and her warm tone and expressive delivery made the story especially enjoyable, bringing both the romance and the magic of Starr’s Fall to life.
Final Thoughts:
Snowflakes Over Starr’s Fall is a heartwarming, feel-good holiday romance that leans fully into small-town charm, gentle character growth, and festive magic. If you enjoy cosy Christmas stories, opposites-attract romances, and familiar community settings that feel like coming home, this book is a lovely choice—especially in audio, where the story truly shines.

I have enjoyed the Starr’s Fall series. Nice review, Jodie. I don’t mind predictable as long as there are some differences.
