I really appreciate when author\u2019s write about characters on the autism spectrum as it provides me with further insight into this disorder. When I learned that Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert had both protagonists on the spectrum, I<\/span>  <\/span>knew I had to read it.<\/span>  <\/span>This is the third book in the author\u2019s The Brown Sisters trilogy, but can easily be read as a standalone.<\/span>  Act Your Age, Eve Brown publishes today!<\/span><\/p>\n

Plot Summary<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Eve Brown\u2019s life has had its challenges.  <\/span>Despite always trying to do the right thing, everything she\u2019s tried goes horribly wrong.  <\/span>After her latest disaster, Eve\u2019s parents demand that it\u2019s time she makes her own way.  <\/span>Without a plan, Eve sets off to find her future.<\/p>\n

Jacob Wayne runs his own bed and breakfast and he demands perfection.  <\/span>When Eve appears to interview for the vacant chef position at his B&B, he immediately shuts her down. After all, she has no formal training and lacks experience.  <\/span>But all things change when Eve hits him with her car and breaks his arm.  <\/span>The B&B is short of staff and Jacob has no choice but to hire Eve to help out.  <\/span>Her upbeat manner is the last thing Jacob wants, but the more he and Eve work together, the more he changes his mind.<\/p>\n

Book Review<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I enjoyed this book and the humorous banter between Eve and Jacob.  <\/span>I really felt a sense of knowing these characters well, and it was enjoyable to see the relationship develop. I appreciate observing personal growth in the characters, and this book has it in spades.  <\/span>The interpersonal dynamics of both of these characters with their family and friends was interesting to observe.  <\/span>While this is not my favourite book in the series, I did appreciate a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.<\/p>\n

Audiobook Review<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I listened to the audiobook version of the book which was narrated by Ione Butler.  <\/span>I thoroughly enjoyed this performance, and found the narrator\u2019s voice to be articulate, expressive and comfortable to listen to.  <\/span>I listened to the book at my usual 1.3x speed and found this to be perfect.  <\/span>I would not hesitate to recommend the audiobook version of this book to those that appreciate this format.<\/p>\n
