Sage Collins is a former data analyst turned bestselling author who now finds herself paralysed by the pressure of writing her second book, unsure if lightning can strike twice. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when a chance meeting on a flight to Comic Con introduces her to Theo Sharpe, a rising British actor whose charm, wit, and public profile complicate everything when the paparazzi mistakenly label Sage as his girlfriend. What begins as an inconvenience quickly becomes something far more layered, especially as both are navigating immense professional and personal pressures.

What I enjoyed most about this story was the emotional depth and character development. The banter between Sage and Theo is consistently engaging and fun, but it’s the intensity beneath their connection that really carries the book. Their relationship feels genuine and earned, with mental health portrayed thoughtfully and with care. I loved watching them slowly open up, share their fears, and become a source of support for one another. The Scottish setting adds a vivid sense of place, offering both physical and emotional space for reflection, healing, and growth, and it’s wonderfully described throughout.

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Georgina Sadler, and found her performance to be a strong complement to the story.
