My Week:
Itās been a full and eventful week. On Monday, I accompanied my brother for his surgery and Iām happy to share that heās recovering well. Wednesday was all about supporting my dad through two medical appointmentsāhis bloodwork has shown slight improvement since last month, which is encouraging. His perseverance and determination never cease to amaze me.
On Thursday, my husband and I carved out a little time for ourselves, enjoying a meal out and some light-hearted casino fun. Friday brought a double celebration as we marked both my brotherās and sisterās birthdaysāhow lucky are we to still gather and share these special moments together?
The weather has been beautiful all week, though an early season heat warning has been issued as temperatures soar well above the norm. Thankfully, more typical seasonal weather is expected to return by the end of next week.
Books Iāve Added to My Shelves This Week:

From The Library:

Her journey toward space becomes one of personal transformation, but a pivotal mission in December 1984 changes everything in an instant. I definitely can’t wait to get a copy of Atmosphere… I hope you will have a wonderful weekend!
Val
You’ve had a busy week. Hopefully all goes well health wise for your family. I do know the experience of guiding a parent through medical appointments and procedures. My dad is 92 and it’s a never ending list. Not sure how much longer he will be with us so I try to do as much as I can. Hopefully a good book will help you deal. Enjoy your new book.
thathappyreader
Thanks Val. I feel the same way with my family.
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz

Itās my siblingās birthdays but thanks anyway!
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
Glad your brother’s surgery went well! I get what you’re saying about being lucky. Whenever I’ve felt like I just want to be at home by myself when family or friends ask me to do something, I have to remind myself that some day I won’t have them to do things with and I’ll wish I hadn’t passed up the opportunity. It’s hard when I do miss my alone time as an introvert though. Hope you have a good week!
thathappyreader
Thank you Lisa. That is it exactly.
Anne - Books of My Heart
You really are fortunate that you are able to do so many family gatherings and events. They are lucky to have you and your support, also. It’s getting humid now here and that’s not my favorite. I hoped it would hold off until the end of the month or even July.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
