My Week:
It’s been a full and eventful week. On Monday, I accompanied my brother for his surgery and I’m happy to share that he’s recovering well. Wednesday was all about supporting my dad through two medical appointments—his bloodwork has shown slight improvement since last month, which is encouraging. His perseverance and determination never cease to amaze me.
On Thursday, my husband and I carved out a little time for ourselves, enjoying a meal out and some light-hearted casino fun. Friday brought a double celebration as we marked both my brother’s and sister’s birthdays—how lucky are we to still gather and share these special moments together?
The weather has been beautiful all week, though an early season heat warning has been issued as temperatures soar well above the norm. Thankfully, more typical seasonal weather is expected to return by the end of next week.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm: I have no pending requests.
When Sybil Rain cashes in her long-expired honeymoon vouchers for a solo escape to the tropical Starling Ranch Inn, the last thing she expects is to run into her ex-fiancé Jamie—who left her at the altar and is now scoping out the resort for his family’s business, accompanied by a stunning “colleague.” In a flustered attempt to save face, Sybil claims she’s there with her boyfriend—just as her second ex-fiancé, Sebastian, conveniently arrives and plays along. As Sybil navigates awkward run-ins, romantic misfires, and the emotional baggage of three failed engagements—including the mysterious first, Liam—she begins to question whether she’s finally ready to move forward and open her heart to a lasting love.
From The Library:
Joan Goodwin, a reserved physics professor with a lifelong fascination for the stars, is selected in 1980 to train as one of NASA’s first female astronauts. As she trains at Houston’s Johnson Space Center alongside a diverse and talented group—including a magnetic engineer named Vanessa Ford—Joan forms deep friendships and discovers a love that challenges everything she thought she knew about herself. Her journey toward space becomes one of personal transformation, but a pivotal mission in December 1984 changes everything in an instant. Set during the thrilling early years of the Space Shuttle program, the novel explores ambition, identity, and the profound impact of human connection.

What I’m Watching:
I’m going to start We Were Liars is a psychological thriller series premiering on Prime Video on June 18, 2025, adapted from E. Lockhart’s bestselling novel and see how I like it. The story follows 17-year-old Cadence Sinclair Eastman (Emily Alyn Lind), a member of the affluent Sinclair family, who spends summers on their private Beechwood Island. After a mysterious accident during her fifteenth summer leaves her with memory loss, Cadence returns two years later to uncover the truth.
