Welcome to The Weekend Post #160! The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon and Marlene of Reading Reality in her meme Stacking The Shelves.
My Week:
It’s been a warm week here in Vancouver, and once again, several wildfires are burning out of control across the province, forcing evacuations in some areas. The closest fire is currently about 40 minutes north of the city, but thankfully, it appears to be coming under control.
It’s been a relatively quiet week otherwise, with just one appointment for my Dad. We’ll be celebrating Father’s Day this weekend, so I’d like to wish a very Happy Father’s Day to everyone who’s celebrating as well.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm: None that I have accepted. I have three pending requests.
From The Library:

After a tragic year marked by her husband’s death in a hit-and-run and a scandal involving her children’s book, Annie Blunt moves with her son Charlie to a small town in upstate New York for a fresh start. Charlie discovers an old train set in a locked shed, and while Annie is relieved to see him happy, unsettling events soon follow—strange sounds of a train at night, odd neighbourhood happenings, and Annie’s compulsion to draw a disturbing figure. As the eerie occurrences escalate, Annie begins to fear that they’ve stumbled into something far more sinister than just bad luck.
From Audible:Â None
What I’m Watching:
I’ve decided to check out a new Netflix series called Too Much, which premieres July 10. Here’s the premise: Too Much follows Jessica (played by Hacks’ Megan Stalter), a workaholic New Yorker who, after a painful breakup, escapes to London—only to unexpectedly fall for Felix (Will Sharpe of The White Lotus), a charming musician with a habit of sleeping until noon. Here’s the trailer:

The Weekend Post #161
That’s a wrap on The Weekend Post #160. How was your week?Â
I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

Harvee
Glad the fires are coming under control. We feel the effects here in Ohio, as the wind blows in our direction. Haven’t been able to walk outside for a week now because of the air quality. Hope it gets much better soon!

Your air quality is likely affected by fires further east in the country. My province is north of Washington State Harvee. I hope all the fires come under control soon.
Tina
I haven’t heard of the Netflix show you mentioned but now that we have moved and will have internet access, I will check it out.

Thanks for reading Tina. I hope that we both enjoy it.

Good luck with the fires!

Thanks Mae.
Roxanne
Oh no! Please stay safe amid these wildfires. Glad they are coming under control.
Thank you for the book recommendation. I’m almost done with the book I’m reading, so I’m looking for a new one, and the one you recommended seems interesting.
Oh, and Happy Father’s Day to your dad!

Have fun celebrating Father’s Day with your dad! WE have had a lot of rain, wishing we could send it toward your wildfires. Have a great week!

You too Cindy – and thank you!

I hope we both enjoy Whistle, Jodie. The Wildfires are so scary, glad the one near you is under control. Enjoy Father’s Day tomorrow with your family. Because my son is now separated, I will be doing Father’s Day for him. He and the kids will come over to swim and we will BBQ. I made potato salad and his favourite, deviled eggs. Have a great week.

It does to me too Joy!

I think I’ve seen some things about Too Much, I’ll be interested to see what you think about it. I know they’ve said we can see some of the smoke from the fires you guys are having. It’s sad to think about all that. Hope you have a good week!

There are several provinces with wildfires here in Canada Lisa. I’m on the west coast north of Washington State. Thanks for your well wishes.

I hope you enjoyed your Father’s Day celebration. So sorry to hear about the wildfires – we’ve been suffering some here in the UK, though nothing on your scale. I hope they abate soon and that this coming week is a good one, Jodie.
