My Week:
Happy Labour Day weekend! It’s been another busy week with lots of appointments, as both of my parents had visits scheduled. We’ve now got caretakers in place to give us some extra support, though, as anyone who’s been through it knows, that brings its own little challenges too. I’m still spending a few hours each day with my parents, helping out where I can. It can be tiring at times, but honestly, I feel really blessed to be able to do this for them.
The weather has stayed hot, and it looks like we’ll have more of the same next week. There’s a chance of a shower or two over the weekend—we could definitely use the rain.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm: I have one audiobook still pending.
From The Library: None that I have accepted. I am trying to catch up on my audible purchases from earlier in the summer.
From Audible: None
What I’m Watching:
Thanks to Carla @ carlalovestoread.wordpress.com, I’ve started watching The Good Karma Hospital on Prime. It follows Ruby Walker, a junior doctor from the UK who heads to South India in search of a fresh start. We are really enjoying it. Thanks for the recommendation Carla!

Yay for getting help lined up for your parents! It has started cooling off here in Ohio, last night dropped into the forties and it is supposed to today as well. I think we are in fake fall, but not sure, LOL! I hope you enjoy your weekend!

I’m glad that you’ve been able to get some help with your parents. My parents died in their 60s before significant health problems that required much family help. I can find some gratitude that they didn’t have to experience declining health and that I didn’t have to deal with it. As you note, though, I would have considered it a blessing to deal with care to have them around longer.

Thank you Joy.

I agree that even though it can be time assuming to be so busy helping parents, it is a nice feeling to be able to do that. I’m glad I live so close to my mom and can help her and spend so much time with her. Have a good week!

Thank you Lisa.
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life
We just set up some extra supports for my mother as well. It was a difficult decision and process but we needed the help, and now I feel relief that she is being taken better care of. It’s a tough thing to go through!
thathappyreader
It absolutely is a challenging situation Erin.
