Welcome to The Weekend Post #172! The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon and Marlene of Reading Reality in her meme Stacking The Shelves.
Since My Last Weekend Post:
Many of you will remember that I recently shared I was taking a short break to spend time with my family. On September 4, my Dad lost his long and courageous battle with cancer. We were fortunate to be able to care for him at home, surrounded by those who loved him most. I miss him deeply, but I am also grateful that he is now at peace.
It was especially meaningful to keep him at home, as my Mom is still physically limited while recovering from cracked bones in her back. We’re doing our best to support her both emotionally and physically through this difficult time.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm: None
From The Library:

Textile artist Sadie Fox returns to her hometown of Pea Blossom, Indiana, to save her father’s pumpkin patch and finally earn his respect by growing a prizewinner for the state fair—only to have a herd of wild hogs destroy her chances. Enter Josh Thatcher, a charming tech millionaire-turned-gourd farmer and her frustratingly attractive neighbour, who offers to help even though they’re competitors. As sparks fly and a storm-fueled kiss changes everything, Sadie must decide if what’s blossoming between them is just attraction or something deeper—something bigger than her record-breaking pumpkin, and maybe even bigger than the secret Josh is keeping.
From Audible:

A Psych 312 project on whether love at first sight really exists takes an unexpected turn when the narrator is paired with Robbie Moravian, the relentlessly cheerful, hopeless romantic whose sunny outlook and history of chaotic meet-cutes make him the last person they want as a partner. Forced to interview couples and spend long hours together just to graduate, the narrator begins to see past Robbie’s dad jokes and retro wardrobe, discovering real depth beneath his golden-boy charm. As Robbie steadily chips away at their cynicism—walking them home, finishing their sentences, and even shielding them from storms—they start to wonder if maybe, just maybe, he’s right about happy endings after all. Group projects might be the worst, but this one could change everything.
What I’m Watching:
I’m excited to watch The Wrong Paris, now streaming on Netflix. The film follows a woman who signs up for a dating show thinking it’s set in Paris, France—only to discover she’s actually in Paris, Texas. Determined to get eliminated, she tries to bow out gracefully, but things take an unexpected turn when she starts falling for the bachelor.

Cindy's Book Corner
I am so sorry for the loss of your dad! But, he is no longer in pain or suffering. Prayers for you and your family, especially your mom, as she adjusts to not having your dad around anymore. Light reading is perfect for now, isn’t it? I have started to read more suspense again, but I am still reading a lot of “lighter” reads. Have a great week!
thathappyreader
Thank you Cindy. Yes light reads all the way right now.
Emily @ Budget Tales Book Blog
Sending love.
The books look interesting and that Netflix film sounds like a good watch. We have so many things lined up to watch. With the kids we literally get to watch things in 5 min blocks so it takes forever to get through things!!
