My Week:
It’s been a week of mixed weather — some days have been sunny with crisp mornings, while others have brought steady rain. The forecast shows even more rain ahead over the next several days. Whenever the weather changes, I can feel my energy dip, but I keep up with my exercise routine to push through it. Does anyone else feel that way too?
It’s been mostly an indoor week for us, though we did venture out to get our vaccines and pick up a few groceries. My son’s birthday was this week, and since he works evenings Monday – Thursday , we celebrated on Friday night. We don’t usually watch much baseball, but I’ll definitely be cheering for and watching the Blue Jays in the World Series!
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves This Week:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm: None that I have accepted. I have no books pending approval.
From The Library:

The Balfour family’s Christmas is full of secrets waiting to be unwrapped. Becky dreads the holiday for the first time and must rely on her brother’s best friend, Will, to keep her confidence after an unexpected airport encounter. Her twin sister, Rosie, is struggling with cracks in her whirlwind marriage to Declan, while Hayley worries about fitting into the Balfours during her first Christmas with Jamie—especially with the secret they’re hiding. With tensions, insecurities, and hidden truths threatening to unravel the holiday, the family must decide if honesty can bring them closer in time to salvage their perfect Christmas together. This book is also published under the title All Together For Christmas in the U.K.

While searching for her family’s long-lost heirloom ring, military widow Vanessa Mayfield meets charming antique dealer Ben Miller, and their friendship soon blossoms into an unexpected romance. As Vanessa prepares for her annual Columbus Cares Christmas Military Dance and her daughter’s return from college, she struggles with guilt and uncertainty about moving on after her husband’s death. Meanwhile, when Ben uncovers shocking details about the ring’s history—an engraving tied to Vanessa’s great-grandfather and D-Day—he realizes a painful truth that drives him to leave town in a desperate bid to save it from being lost forever. In the days leading up to Christmas, both must confront love, loss, and the timeless truth that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

What I’m Watching:
I’m excited to see the second season of Nobody Wants This on Netflix which dropped on October 23. It stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody and is the love story of an agnostic podcaster and a newly single rabbi. Is anyone else a fan of this show?

I definitely get the dip in energy from weather changes and need to push my exercise to cope.

I think it’s the best strategy Joy.

I’ll be looking for The Christmas Ring. I’m not a huge baseball fan anymore but when I was growing up my brother in law would take my brother and I and his kids to all the Cincinnati Reds games. When the game was over we’d get all the players signatures except for Johnny Bench. He never signed autographs for anyone. Very rude!

I hope we both enjoy The Christmas Ring Vicki.

Looks like a couple good books for you this week! I love the rainy days, for a while. We had the cool mornings with sunny days here too. Sounds like we’re going to have the cooler weather setting in for good now. Although I think I need to mow one more time. Hope you have a good week!

My daughter’s birthday was yesterday and we celebrated. Happy birthday to your son! YES, I get SAD (seasonal affection disorder) during this time of year as well, and my energy dips. Having been sick on top of all that, I am struggling to get back into my workout routines, but haven’t stopped completely. Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday to your daughter Cindy.

We’ve had an amazing Autumn so far weatherwise, but it is now inexorably getting ever colder – to the extent that the heating came on a couple of days ago. So we now need to brace ourselves for our energy bills to go through the roof! I hope the coming week is a good one for you, Jode:)).

Thanks Sarah.
