My Week:
We’ve had another week of mixed weather, with plenty of rain — the perfect backdrop for holiday decorating. We did decorate our home this week, and now everything feels brighter and cozier.
I accompanied Mom to a couple of her appointments, and afterward my mom, my sister, and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant. The food was delicious, and the company was even better.
Aside from a bit of shopping, it’s been a relatively quiet week. With Christmas less than a month away, I’m working on finalizing my gift lists and planning the treats I want to make.
For those of you in the U.S., I hope you’re enjoying a wonderful holiday weekend.
Books I’ve Added to My Shelves Recently:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm: I’ll be sharing some in a future post.
From The Library:

Jessica Connolly loves her hometown of Blue Moon Bay, where she runs a thriving bakery and is surrounded by family and friends, but her unlucky love life—marked by being the “good luck charm” for her exes’ happily-ever-afters—has convinced her to give up on romance. Meanwhile, globe-trotting Dr. Mitch Jameson is back home for the holidays, eager to leave again once the season ends, until he crosses paths with Jessica, the captivating baker determined to stay single. As they share hot chocolates, holiday traditions, and sweet moments together, they begin to rediscover the magic of Christmas—but the question remains whether their love can last once the festive season fades.

Single mom Lexie Bell is determined to give her six-year-old son Brock a magical first Christmas in their new home, but their grumpy, reclusive neighbour Stanley Mann isn’t exactly spreading holiday cheer. Still grieving the loss of his wife, Stanley has shut himself off from the season—until her ghost appears in his dreams, urging him to let go of his scroogey ways. As Lexie shares warmth and kindness next door, Stanley reluctantly finds himself building snowmen, trimming trees, and slowly rediscovering the joy he thought he’d lost. With a little nudge from a determined Christmas spirit, this holiday is destined to end merrily for them all.

What I’m Watching:
The fall finales of many of my favourite TV series have aired, complete with all the usual cliffhangers. The standout for me this week was the 30th anniversary reunion of Everybody Loves Raymond. It offered a wonderful look back at some of the show’s most hilarious moments and reminded me just how great that era of television was. The whole thing left me feeling nostalgic for comedies like it.
Did anyone else watch the reunion?

I’m glad you enjoyed the company of your family. I did enjoy Everybody Loves Raymond but I don’t think the reunion has played here yet.
Wishing you a cozy reading week

My daughter-in-law did a lot of decorating the day after Thanksgiving, and I’m glad we were able to be there to enjoy it with her.
My d-i-l and son introduced us to Everybody Loves Raymond. Now I think we need to look for it.

Anne - Books of My Heart
Winter looks pretty but I’m glad the snow we get is limited to 1-2 days a year. It’s definitely flannel shirt and sweater weather now. We found some discounts in the Black Friday deals. Everything we did was online as we don’t go out to shop often. A quiet week is a good week.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

I agree Anne. 1-2 days a year is enough snow for me.

I’m glad you enjoyed a quiet week with your family, Jodie. I can’t believe it’s December already, but I’m happy to be finalizing gifts as well and avoiding the busy malls. Have a wonderful week!
