It’s time for Who Wears it Better in March 2026? In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently.
But first, let’s review the results of last month’s battles!

Now onto:
Our March Battles (polls close March 27):
Vigil by George Saunders:

Thanks to Jamie for requesting this battle.
Our first battle for March features two very different covers representing different regions. The U.S. cover is in black and white and appears to show a person flying through stormy skies. The U.K. cover, on the other hand, is colourful and depicts a building. Based purely on aesthetics, my preference in this battle goes to the U.K. cover.
The Secret Lives of Murderers’ Wives by Elizabeth Arnott:

Our next challenge features two covers from different publishers. Both have a vintage feel, with the book’s title highlighted within a block. The Berkley cover features the faces of three women, while the Viking cover shows a pool with deck chairs viewed from inside the home. Although I prefer the colours used on the Viking cover, my choice is the Berkley cover because it makes me more curious to read the story.
Kin by Tayari Jones:

Our third battle once again features covers representing different regions. While the designs are similar, there are enough differences that most people will likely have a preference for one over the other. The U.K. cover presents the flowers and leaves in gold, while the U.S. cover features them in more vibrant colours. Although I like both covers, my preference is for the U.S. version.
The Exes by Leodora Darlington:

In our next regional battle, we’re comparing two very different covers of the same book. The U.S. cover features a black background with a cutout “X,” revealing a woman’s eye peering through it. The U.K. cover, on the other hand, shows two red heart-shaped candy suckers—one of them broken—set against a bright yellow background.
Which cover makes me want to pick up the book more? The U.S. cover.
In Her Defense by Philippa Malicka:

In our final battle this month, we once again have covers from different regions going head-to-head. The U.K. cover is vibrant and colourful, featuring the puzzle-shaped profile of a woman. The U.S. cover, on the other hand, shows a woman’s face from the front and has the look of a painted portrait. My pick this time is the U.S. cover.
So there you have it – Who Wears it Better in March 2026? I’d love to know which covers you prefer, so please vote to let me know!
❓Do you have a cover you’d like me to feature in an upcoming battle? Let me know in the comments. ☺️
