It’s time for Who Wears it Better in September 2025? In this feature, I look at different book covers used for the same book. In some cases, the cover is chosen by geography (e.g. North America or UK). Other times, it’s based on the edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, kindle etc). Where it becomes confusing is when the book is given a completely different title! Just for fun, and because I love talking books, let’s see what different books covers I’ve noticed recently.
If you’d like to learn more about these books before casting your vote — or add them to your Goodreads shelf — just click on either cover to head straight to their Goodreads page.
➡️ I’ve added voting buttons to each of the five challenges, so please cast your votes for all of them and I’ll do the same. I will share the final results in next month’s post. But first, let’s review the results of last month’s battles!

Our September Battles: (Polls close September 30):
Our Last Vineyard Summer by Brooke Lea Foster:

Our first battle this month features two different covers from two different publishers. I really love the vintage aesthetic of the Gallery Books edition, which perfectly reflects the time period of the story. But I have to admit—I’m a sucker for covers that capture a gorgeous sunset. So, my pick this round goes to Center Point.
The Compound by Aisling Rawle:

Our next battle once again brings us two covers from different publishers. This time, my choice is an easy one. While The Borough Press cover is bright and colourful, it feels a bit too plain. The Random House edition, on the other hand, draws me in with its detail and intrigue—so my pick is definitely Random House.
The Sandy Page Bookshop by Hannah McKinnon:

Our next battle features two covers from different publishers once again. While both designs are appealing, one stands out just a little more to me—the Center Point edition, with its vibrant colours and unmistakable beach setting.
My Other Heart by Emma Nanami Strenner:

Our next battle showcases two covers from different publishers and regions. The Pamela Dorman Books edition is a Read With Jenna pick in the U.S., while the Penguin edition represents the U.K. Since I prefer clean, crisp designs, the Pamela Dorman cover doesn’t quite work for me. I also love how the Penguin cover cleverly offers a glimpse into the book’s setting—so Penguin is my pick for this round.
The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin:

Our final battle this month once again brings us two covers from different publishers and regions—Transworld Digital in the U.K. and Harper in the U.S. I do appreciate the paint drops on the Transworld Digital cover, which feel like a subtle nod to the story, but I find myself much more drawn to the Harper edition. So, Harper takes the win in this final challenge.

Lanae Bond
This is a cool idea. I have noticed I liked some book covers over others. The covers that reflect the author and what the book is about are always the best.

I agree Lanae.
Veros @ Dark Shelf of Wonders
I voted for the Center Point option for Our Last Vineyard summer because jumping off a pier doesn’t scream vineyard to me 🤔.

It is interesting to see the different covers for the same book! I had fun voting, and I do agree The Borough Press cover for The Compound is quite plain, but I am definitely intrigued by the Random House cover!

Yvonne @ It's All About Books
Great picks! I agree with all of your choices except for the last one; while I do like the blue cover, I slightly prefer the colorful one for Lenny And Margot.
