Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the Jill at Breaking the Spine. So let me introduce you my Can’t Wait Wednesday #174 pick. Click on the book’s cover to add it to your Goodreads shelf (opens in a new window).

Length: ~9 hours.
Narrator: Hannah Fredericksen, Jenny Seedsman.
Genre: Women’s Fiction
From The Publisher:
There are two kinds of people no one ever expects to be: little girls and old ladies.
Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick is eighty-one years old. She’s lived on her idyllic street for sixty years—longer than anyone else. Aside from being a curmudgeon who minds everyone else’s business, few would suspect that Elsie has a past she’s worked exceedingly hard at concealing—because when it comes to murder, no one ever suspects little girls or old ladies. And Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick, once a little girl and now an old lady, has a strange history of people in her life coming to a foul end.
Why I Can’t Wait To Read Mad Mabel:
I’ve enjoyed this author’s other books, and this synopsis has definitely piqued my interest. I’m really curious to learn more about Elsie’s past.
Other Recent Picks for Can’t Wait Wednesday:
Can’t Wait Wednesday #173: No Matter What by Cara Bastone
Can’t Wait Wednesday #172: That’s What Friends Are For by Wade Rouse

It is a bit of a wait (Oct) but I can’t wait for the next book in Louise Penny’s Chief Inspector Gamache series. My Gramma got me into the series and she has since passed(2024), so I always look forward to the yearly release. As a Canadian Three Pines is like home

I love the sentimental connection you have to this series with your Gramma Jamie.
