Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club (Hello Sunshine)’s pick for June 2026:
Founded in 2017, Hello Sunshine always chooses books with women at the centre of the story. Their website notes “We make our choices thoughtfully and look for ways to deepen our connection to books, authors and ourselves”. This book club chose “A Pair of Aces” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray as their June 2026 pick.
Eunice Carter, Manhattan’s first Black female prosecutor, becomes determined to bring down notorious mob boss Lucky Luciano after other prosecutors fail by targeting his gambling, bootlegging, and tax schemes. Realizing that his prostitution network may be his greatest vulnerability, she joins forces with Polly Adler, a successful brothel owner whose workers have been endangered by Luciano’s growing influence. Despite coming from vastly different worlds, the two women build a secret network of female informants and witnesses, gathering evidence against Luciano while risking their own safety. Their unlikely partnership ultimately leads to a landmark case and one of the most sensational criminal trials in New York City history.
Good Morning America’s Book Club’s pick:
The GMA Book Club is officially called “Cover to Cover” and was started in the Fall of 2019. Their selections highlight diversity and books are chosen from both fiction and non-fiction genres. The book club chose “Dolly All The Time” by Annabel Monaghan as their June 2026 pick.
At thirty-nine, fiercely independent Dolly Brick returns to Whitfield, Rhode Island, with her son to help save her family home, believing she can solve any problem on her own. When she meets Stewart Whitfield, a charming heir reeling from a very public breakup, she agrees to help him through an arrangement that quickly becomes more complicated than expected. As staged appearances and social obligations give way to genuine connection through boat rides, porch conversations, and shared moments, Dolly finds herself developing real feelings for Stewart and must confront a challenge she’s never faced before: learning to trust and rely on someone else.
Read With Jenna (Jenna Bush Hager)’s pick:
In March 2019, the former First Daughter announced her book club on the Today show. Each month she chooses a book that is sure to generate discussion. Jenna chose “The Children” by Melissa Albert as her June 2026 pick.
The Children follows Guinevere Sharpe, whose childhood exists in two versions: the beloved magical one immortalized in her mother Edith Sharpe’s bestselling Ninth City books, and the harsher reality of growing up neglected and isolated with her brother on a remote Vermont farm. After a mysterious fire kills their mother and leaves the children as the only survivors, Guinevere spends adulthood living off the family legacy while avoiding the truth about her past. When her estranged brother unveils an art installation about their mother and rumors emerge surrounding his work, long-buried memories resurface, forcing Guinevere to investigate the fire, her mother’s dark secrets, and the troubling gap between the myths people create and the realities they conceal. Blending literary mystery, psychological suspense, and reflections on memory, fame, and authorship, the novel explores how childhood stories can take on darker meanings when revisited years later.
Oprah’s Book Club:
Oprah Winfrey started this book club in 1996 as a segment on her TV show. Many obscure titles have risen to bestseller status as a result of her picks. This book club does not choose books on a monthly basis but Oprah’s latest pick is “John of John” by Douglas Stuart.
John of John follows John-Calum “Cal” Macleod, a struggling art school graduate who returns broke to his childhood home on the Isle of Harris, where he finds himself caught between his devout, traditional father—a sheep farmer, tweed weaver, and respected church elder—and his outspoken grandmother, whose presence has long balanced family tensions. As Cal grapples with his identity, desires, and uncertain future in a close-knit rural community that seems resistant to change, conflicts over faith, expectations, and belonging intensify. Set against the rhythms of island life and the changing farming seasons, the novel explores family bonds, personal truth, duty, and the pressures that shape both individuals and communities.
