Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club (Hello Sunshine)’s pick for October 2025:
Founded in 2017, Hello Sunshine always chooses books with women at the centre of the story. Their website notes “We make our choices thoughtfully and look for ways to deepen our connection to books, authors and ourselves”.  There is no book club selection for October but given that Reese has collaborated with Harlan Coben on their book Gone Before Goodbye I’m sharing this as Reese’s pick.

Length: ~11 hours.
Narrators: Ensemble, including Reese Witherspoon.
Genre: Crime Thriller
Summary:
In Gone Before Goodbye, Maggie McCabe, a brilliant Army combat surgeon whose career unravels after devastating personal tragedies and the loss of her medical license, is offered a second chance by a former colleague in the world of elite, high-stakes plastic surgery. Drawn into a secretive assignment caring for one of the world’s most enigmatic men in a hidden realm of wealth and power, Maggie’s expertise is pushed to the limit. But when her patient vanishes under mysterious circumstances, she is thrust into a dangerous game of survival, forced to go on the run before she becomes the next one to disappear.
Good Morning America’s Book Club’s pick:
The GMA Book Club is officially called “Cover to Cover” and was started in the Fall of 2019. Their selections highlight diversity and books are chosen from both fiction and non-fiction genres. The book club chose “Twice” by Mitch Albom as their October 2025 pick.

Length: 320 pages / ~ 6 hours.
Narrator: Mitch Albom.
Genre: Coming of Age, Magical Realism
Summary:
Twice tells the story of Alfie Logan, who discovers at age eight that he can relive any moment of his life and alter its outcome—though he must accept the consequences of his second choice. Growing up, he uses this gift to erase mistakes, escape dangers, and eventually perfect his way into love with Gianna, the woman he believes is his soulmate. But when temptation causes his gaze to wander, Alfie learns the devastating rule that once he undoes love, he can never win it back, forcing him to make a choice that changes his life forever. Framed by an interrogation years later, when an ailing Alfie is accused of rigging casino games, his remarkable story unfolds as both a cautionary tale and a poignant exploration of love, desire, and second chances, showcasing Albom’s gift for weaving enchanting, heart-stirring narratives.
Read With Jenna (Jenna Bush Hager)’s pick:
In March 2019, the former First Daughter announced her book club on the Today show. Each month she chooses a book that is sure to generate discussion. Jenna chose “The Irish Goodbye” by Heather Aimee O’Neill as her October 2025 pick.

Length: 288 pages / ~ 9 hours.
Narrator: Kristen Sieh.
Genre: Women’s Fiction
Summary:
In this debut novel, three adult sisters reunite at their childhood home on Long Island for Thanksgiving, still haunted by the tragic boat accident that claimed a friend’s brother, bankrupted their parents, and led to their own brother Topher’s death years later. Each woman arrives carrying secrets—Cait with hidden guilt and a rekindled romance tied to the tragedy, Alice with a career crisis that could cost her marriage, and Maggie with the courage to introduce her girlfriend to their devoutly Catholic mother. As old tensions resurface and long-buried truths come to light, the sisters must confront their grief, guilt, and complicated relationships before their family bond is shattered for good.
Oprah’s Book Club:
Oprah Winfrey started this book club in 1996 as a segment on her TV show. Many obscure titles have risen to bestseller status as a result of her picks. Oprah’s latest pick is “All The Way To The River” by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Length: 400 pages / ~ 10 hours.
Narrator: Elizabeth Gilbert.
Genre: Memoir
Summary:
Elizabeth Gilbert’s All the Way to the River is a raw and intimate exploration of love, loss, addiction, and healing, tracing her transformative relationship with musician and writer Rayya Elias. What began as an unlikely friendship grew into an inseparable bond and, eventually, a love that forced Gilbert to confront both her deepest desires and her most destructive patterns. Through passion, grief, and heartbreak, she examines how the person who teaches us the most about ourselves can also become the source of our greatest pain—yet ultimately open the door to liberation. This memoir speaks to anyone who has been captive to love, obsession, or craving, and longs to find peace and freedom.
