Welcome to The Weekend Post #195! The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. My Week:
It’s been a mixed bag of weather this week. The past few days have been dry with cooler-than-normal temperatures, while earlier we had a stretch of warmer, wetter conditions. The local mountains have picked up some fresh snow, and it’s been lovely to see their snowy peaks on clear days.
We hosted a Valentine’s Day dinner on Saturday, knowing it might be a difficult day for Mom. Other than our usual grocery shopping, we kept things quiet at home and spent time watching the Olympics. As much as I’ve enjoyed the games, it will be nice to settle back into a normal routine once they wrap up on Sunday.
Recent Additions To My Bookshelf:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm:

Jax prides herself on being in control, though the only thing she truly runs is the Painted Lady Bookstore, a Victorian mansion she inherited, while the rest of her life spins beyond her grasp—her ex is getting engaged for dubious reasons, her sister Ryleigh plans to move away to find a husband, and the charming contractor Jax recruits to make Ryleigh stay seems far more interested in Jax herself. Her orderly world unravels further when an accident wipes the names from the shop’s lockboxes of townspeople’s diaries, leaving her no choice but to read them to return them, unleashing secrets, scandals, and small-town chaos that ultimately force Jax to confront the possibility that surrendering control—especially to the right unexpected man—might be exactly what she needs.

What I’m Watching:
Besides watching the Olympics, I was thrilled to discover that my recently renewed TV package lets me stream The Pitt on demand. I’ve been watching an episode or two each evening, and I love this show even more than I expected. Let me know if you’re a fan too!

That’s a wrap on The Weekend Post #195. How was your week?
I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

Jonetta | Blue Mood Café
It will be nice to get back to regular programming as much as I’ve loved watching the events. I intend to watch The Pitt soon.
Have a great week, Jodie💜

You too Jonetta!
Cindy's Book Corner
Sounds like a nice week. We had warm weather a few days this week and *most* of the snow had melted off. It’s cold this weekend and we are supposed to get 4 inches of snow tomorrow into Monday, but I am hoping it skips us altogether, LOL! Have a great week!
thathappyreader
I hope it skips you too Cindy.
Carla@CarlaLovesToRead
What a nice way to spend Valentine’s Day, Jodie. I’ve been outside pretty much all day, then watch the Olympics all evening, so definitely need to get back into a routine on Monday. I also have Susan Mallery’s newest on audiobook to listen to. I hope we both enjoy it. The Pitt is on my radar to start watching soon. I hope you have a wonderful week, Jodie.

Thank you Carla!
Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
The first time we watched The Pitt, I went to bed traumatized with all the pain in the stories of the various people in the hospital. Last night we watched an episode and followed it with All Creatures Great and Small. Problem solved.
Let’s see what you think about The Bookstore Diaries!
thathappyreader
I completely understand about The Pitt Deb. It’s not something I want to watch right before bed!
Bonnie Reads and Writes
Sounds like you had a nice week of streaming. We just finished watching The Americans and are now watching both Doc Martin and The Closer. My SP: https://bonniereadsandwrites.com/2026/02/22/sunday-post-and-sunday-salon-walk-this-way/#comment-11748

Are you watching the British Doc Martin or the U.S. version (Best Medicine) Bonnie?
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
Yeah, our weather was warm, not as wet though, and then back to frigid this weekend. But warming up again this coming week a little! That book looks good. I’ll look forward to your review of it. Hope you have a good week!

You too Lisa!

Anne - Books of My Heart
I’m ready for spring though I have enjoyed some of the winter Olympics. My daughter didn’t want to watch so I had to pick my times. We’re watching an old series The Closer right now. I’ve heard good things about The Pitt.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

It’s hard when someone in the house doesn’t want to watch the same things that we do.
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Life
It sounds like you had a nice, quiet week. Those are the best. 🙂 I hope you enjoy this week as well!

Thanks Erin.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I’ve been watching the Olympics too. I have no idea what to watch when they’re over.
thathappyreader
I hope you can find something AJ!
Trish
I m a big fan of The Pitt! Lots to love about it, in my opinion. Did you see The Simpsons had an episode that featured several of the characters from The Pitt? I have seen clips of it, and it was really funny.
thathappyreader
No but I will look for it!
Sarah
I will really miss the Olympics! I prefer the winter version to the summer events – it’s less exhausting for starters, as there are a bunch of sports GB doesn’t take part it, which I prefer… Have a great week, Jodie:))

Thanks Sarah. You too!

I am trying to very slowly watch The Pitt. Savor it. I just finished episode two.
We are currently buried under two feet of snow. I think I just finally stopped snowing. The kids have had a snow day today and will have one tomorrow as well.
thathappyreader
That is a lot of snow! I’ve never witnessed that much unless I’m on the local ski mountains Hena.

Valentine’s Day dinner with family sounds lovely. I hope you all had a great time! Enjoy your week Jodie!

Thank you Winnie. You too!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
I’ve honestly never really watched the Olympics. Occasionally, they have it playing wherever I’m at (someone’s house, a restaurant, etc.), but I don’t go out of my way to put it on. Although, I very rarely watch TV anymore, so that’s probably why. 🙂 I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it!
I hope you have a lovely week!
thathappyreader
Thanks Lindsi.
Jamie
It sounds like you had a nice Valentine’s Day! Now that the Olympics are over, I’ve gotten hooked on The Traitors. I started on the most recent season and am caught up. We only have Crave for a couple more weeks, so I am debating trying to get Season 3 done as well. Have a good week!
thathappyreader
I hope you can get Season 3 in as well Jamie.
