My Week:
Happy Memorial Day weekend to my U.S. friends! It’s been a sunny week in Vancouver, with temperatures slightly above normal. On Sunday, we were without internet — and therefore TV — all day after vandalism damaged our provider’s fibre line. I was grateful to have enough data on my cell plan to use my phone as a hotspot so I could stream Netflix on my iPad. Since then, I’ve purchased a USB-C to HDMI cable so I can connect my iPad directly to the TV if this happens again. Unfortunately, we seem to deal with this kind of outage at least once a year, and I figured the cable would also come in handy when we travel.
I had a hair appointment on Monday, visited with my mom and sister on Wednesday, and on Thursday my hubby and I went out for lunch.
I’ve also developed a bit of tendonitis in one of my feet, so I’ve adjusted my exercise routine to compensate and now wear a compression sock when working out. I’m hoping it clears up quickly, as I really enjoy going for walks.
WordPress had another major upgrade this week and I hope this won’t affect this blog this time. I do see a smaller font when drafting a post, but thankfully once it publishes it appears normal. Have you encountered any issues with the upgrade if you are using WordPress?

From The Library:

In this charming small-town romance by Sarah Adams, burned-out pop star Amelia Rose—better known to fans as Rae Rose—escapes the pressures of fame and heads to Rome, Kentucky, seeking a break inspired by Roman Holiday. When grumpy pie shop owner Noah Walker finds her stranded on his lawn, he reluctantly offers her a place to stay until her car is repaired. As Amelia trades celebrity life for cozy small-town experiences, Noah begins to see the real woman behind the pop-star image: kind, funny, and deeply lonely. While Amelia falls for the warmth of the town and her unlikely connection with Noah, both must decide whether their growing romance can survive once her glamorous life calls her back home.

🇨🇦 Spanning nearly a century, The Chambermaid’s Key follows two women connected by the secrets of Toronto’s historic Dominion Hotel. In 1929, Rosie Ryan longs to escape poverty in The Ward by working as a chambermaid at the glamorous new hotel, but her dreams become entangled with a charming waiter, a powerful gangster, and a shocking murder that draws her into a dangerous web of betrayal. In the present day, city building inspector Bridget Kelly is assigned to review renovations at the aging hotel and quickly becomes captivated by its history—especially when hidden rooms, locked boxes, and secret corridors reveal clues to a decades-old crime. As Bridget digs deeper, she discovers someone is determined to keep the past buried, no matter the cost.

What I’m Watching:
I’m looking forward to watching Season 2 of The Four Seasons on Netflix which drops May 28 and picks up with the group reeling from the loss of Nick. I’m also continuing to watch E.R. (I’m now on season 9) and glad I made it through (with lots of tears) the death of a major character on the show.
