My Week:
It’s been a lovely fall week weather-wise, with warm, sunny days and cooler, crisp mornings—exactly what I love about living here. The trees are putting on a gorgeous show, displaying their beautiful fall colours.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner last weekend, hosted by my sister. It was so nice to see everyone and spend some quality time together. Mom has been experiencing a little relief from her back and leg pain, which is encouraging, although we’re still waiting for her MRI. My hubby had another lightheaded spell this week. He hadn’t experienced one for several months, but this latest episode was a reminder of how important it is to get his cardiac MRI and electrophysiologist appointment scheduled so he can hopefully move forward with treatment.
On the reading front, I started Freida McFadden’s The Witch this week but had to set it aside about a third of the way through. It was simply too violent for me at this point in my life. Instead, I turned to Debbie Macomber’s A Date With Santa, which was just the change of pace I needed! My review of this festive read will be posting in early November.
Just a friendly reminder that voting for my Who Wears It Better post closes on October 23, so please cast your vote if you haven’t already! And if anyone else would like to join my 2026 Christmas Reading Challenge, there’s still plenty of time to participate. You can jump in at any time, and the challenge runs until December 31.

Thanks to Jonetta @ Blue Mood Cafe for bringing this book to my attention. It’s scheduled to be released January 1/27.

When Cora Agnelli is summoned to her famous artist father’s luxurious villa on the Italian island of Capri, she reluctantly reunites with her two estranged sisters after nearly a decade apart. Diana, the polished eldest sister, has built a successful life and family in America, while Kiki, the youngest, has become a glamorous social media star who is engaged and expecting a baby. As the sisters gather to discover why their wealthy, unpredictable father has called them home, his shocking announcement ignites old resentments, deepens family divisions, and leaves Cora questioning whom she can trust. But when Florian himself finds his life in jeopardy, the sisters’ reunion takes an unexpected turn that will change them all forever. Set against the breathtaking beauty of Capri, this heartfelt, tempestuous, and often humorous novel by Jojo Moyes explores sisterhood, family secrets, and the possibility of forgiveness and redemption. I learned about this book on Edelweiss+. It’s expected to be released on February 11/27.
