My Week:
We’ve continued to enjoy spring-like weather this week, and I’m so grateful for it. The daffodils are starting to nod, and getting ready to bloom soon. Sunshine and warm daytime temperatures are forecast for the weekend and I hope to get a few walks in. My husband and I took a little trip to the casino this week, and I also went to with my mom and sister for lunch after my mom’s medical appointment. I had my son, mom and brother over for dinner last weekend. We even managed to finish our taxes, which feels wonderful to have done. I hope each of you had a lovely week as well.
Recent Additions To My Bookshelf:
From Publishers, Netgalley, & Libro.fm:

After a lifetime of failed relationships, JoJo Burton heads to her sister’s destination wedding on a cruise ship determined to fix her intimacy issues by finally getting closure with her first crush—a newly divorced fellow guest—enlisting her childhood best friend Cooper Watts as her reluctant wing man. But Cooper, who vanished from JoJo’s life four years earlier and broke her heart in the process, complicates everything as old feelings resurface amid fake flirting, shared cabins, jealous moments, and over-the-top shipboard antics. As the line between performance and reality blurs, JoJo is forced to confront the questions she’s long avoided, leading to a swoony, heartfelt friends-to-lovers romance that proves true love has a way of finding its way back, even at sea.
From The Library:

Set across two timelines, Liberty Street intertwines the stories of two women drawn to the dark legacy of Mercer Women’s Prison. In 1961, Emily Radcliffe, an ambitious editorial assistant at Chatelaine magazine, seizes what she believes is a career-defining opportunity when a startling letter from an inmate prompts her to go undercover, only to discover that uncovering the truth inside the prison may cost her far more than she expects. Decades later, in 1996, Detective Rachel Mackenzie is assigned to investigate unidentified female remains found in a small-town Ontario cemetery, a case that leads her back to the now-abandoned prison and forces her to confront long-buried family trauma. Inspired by true events, the novel is a powerful, emotionally resonant exploration of resilience, mental health, and the enduring strength of female connection.

What I’m Watching:
I’ve started watching the old series Everwood on Netflix and am really enjoying it. This series premiered in 2002 and although the clothing and cars look a little different from today it feels timeless. Let me know if you watched this series when it originally aired or anytime after! I’ve also started watching the new season of The Voice.

It sounds like a great week. We are having another cold snap this weekend, but it was 48 when I woke up this morning, and the sun was out, so I was determined to get out and walk before the temps dropped. It is SO nice to be able to do it here and there, but I am excited for spring, and daily walks! I hope you enjoy both of these books, my stack was quite a bit larger than it had been recently. Have a great weekend!

Thank you Cindy. You too!

We loved Everwood!! We will still talk about it sometimes.
I am so jealous of your forecast. Ours is rain every single day! Lol. I guess it gives me a good excuse to read though.
thathappyreader
The rain is returning Monday night but at least we can enjoy the sun until then!

We do not have daffodils here, and I would love to see some, so I hope you will post pictures if you can.
I’m eager to read the new Katherine Center book, and it will be interesting to hear your thoughts about The Shippers.

I will Deb!
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
We had the really nice weather last week as well. Then last night it got cold again and there is possible snow/sleet today. Although I think the last report said probably where I live it will just be rain thankfully. But I am missing the sunny days and 70 degrees of the last two days. I’ve enjoyed Katherine Center books in the past, so need to get that one! Hope you have a good week!

You too Lisa!
