My Week:
The variety of spring weather was on full display this week. We experienced rainy days, cooler temperatures, and are now heading into a stretch of hot weather this weekend and early next week. We were grateful for a dry, cooler day on Sunday when we visited a local farmers’ market. It was the market’s first day of the summer season, and although it was busy, it was also a lot of fun.
Afterward, we enjoyed lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant, where the food was delicious. On Monday, I met a friend for lunch whom I have known for more than forty-five years but had not seen in several years. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed catching up.
This Saturday, we will be placing flowers on the graves of our family members in recognition of Father’s Day. It will be the first Father’s Day without Dad, and I know it is going to be a difficult day.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about the WordPress changes that were causing issues with my blog. Thankfully, most of those problems have now been resolved.
However, something else happened this week that completely caught me off guard: Jetpack suddenly classified my site as a commercial blog. I have no idea why, since I don’t run AdSense or any other form of monetization. This is a hobby blog only.
I appealed the decision, and after a few days I was happy to see that Jetpack agreed and restored my blog to the free plan. I also use Google Analytics so I wasn’t about to pay the $12 a month to keep Jetpack but I prefer using Jetpack for ease of use and its widget.
I’m curious—has this happened to anyone else, or was it just a strange one-off?
Recent Additions To My Bookshelf:
From Publishers, Netgalley or Libro.fm:

After college, five close friends make a tradition of reuniting for one week each summer at a beach house on the California coast, bound by a pact that no one in the group will date each other. But Everett and Sutton secretly break the rule, carrying on an on-again, off-again romance that ultimately ends in heartbreak. Five years later, they’re forced back together when a recently divorced friend invites the group to reunite at the beach house. As old traditions, shared memories, and lingering feelings resurface, Sutton finds herself drawn once again to the man she never truly got over. Faced with the possibility of a second chance, she must decide whether risking her heart—and the fragile harmony of their friendship circle—is worth breaking the rules all over again.
From The Library:

Rosie Lucas is juggling a full life as she cares for her aging mother, rebuilds her strained relationship with her daughter Emma, and runs The Rainy Day Bookshop alongside Emma, who has returned home with her young daughter, Olive, offering both a fresh start and a chance at healing old wounds. Determined to focus on family rather than romance, Rosie resists her growing attraction to Andrew Morgan, a guarded single father and reclusive writer who unexpectedly becomes her confidant as she struggles to reconnect with Emma. Meanwhile, Emma works hard to move beyond past mistakes while protecting both her daughter and her mother, keeping hidden a long-buried secret tied to their shared past. As truths begin to surface, mother and daughter must confront painful revelations and find a way to move forward together, strengthening their bond through forgiveness, honesty, and love.
What I’m Watching:
I’m looking forward to watching Every Year After, a new series on Prime based on the novel by Canadian author Carley Fortune. The first season features eight episodes. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can’t wait to see how its characters and story are brought to life on screen.

Wishing you strength this weekend! I can imagine this date being difficult… <3 That's also strange about the whole Jetpack thing; it seems like WordPress has been messing up a lot recently with all the 'updates'. I'm glad it was solved for you though! I hope you will enjoy the new additions to your bookshelf.

Thanks Yvonne! I hope this will be the end of these blips.

My local farmer market just opened up for the season! I have been traveling and haven’t had a chance to get out there yet, but I’m excited to see what produce and artisan wares we’ve got going on this season.
