Happy 4th of July to my American friends and readers! I hope you have a wonderful weekend of celebrating your nation’s 250th!
Welcome to The Weekend Post #214! The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.
My Week:
It’s been an unseasonably cool week, and thankfully we received a good amount of rain on Thursday. The forecast calls for warmer temperatures and sunny skies over the next week, making for the perfect start to summer.
One of the highlights of the week was catching up with our friends in England over Facebook Messenger. I went to junior high school with Jill, but we lost touch when her family moved abroad. We reconnected in 2012 and spent many wonderful years traveling together throughout Europe and on several cruises. We haven’t seen each other in person since 2018, as family and health issues have prevented us from getting together. We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to reunite next year, but until then, we’re grateful that we can meet virtually once a month to catch up.
I also treated myself to a pedicure this week and accompanied my brother to the ER for treatment of a minor injury. Other than that, it’s been a typical week filled with shopping, chores, and the usual day-to-day activities.
Canada plays in the Round of 16 on Saturday morning, and I’ll be cheering our team on!
Recent Additions To My Bookshelf:
From Publishers, Netgalley or Libro.fm:

After receiving a letter from his wife, Rose, informing him that she has undergone a memory-erasing procedure and no longer remembers their life together, Landon refuses to let go of the woman he still loves. When he finds her living in Edinburgh and starting over with no recollection of their shared past, he reenters her life as a stranger in the hope that they might fall in love again. As buried memories begin to resurface and mysterious symptoms emerge, Rose and Landon must confront whether revisiting their past is worth the emotional and potentially devastating consequences. Told through alternating timelines, The Good Parts is a moving exploration of love, loss, memory, and second chances. Thank you to Hachette Audio and Libro.fm for the ALC.
From The Library:

After an amicable but painful divorce from her college sweetheart, physician Layla Bailey believes she’s moved on—until she’s invited to her former sister-in-law’s destination wedding in Paris, where memories of her own honeymoon and the presence of her ex and his new partner reopen old wounds. When an innocent conversation with the bride sparks doubts about the wedding, Layla is reluctantly teamed up with the groom’s reserved best man, Griffin, to get the couple back on track. As they work together to save the wedding, Layla and Griffin confront the heartbreaks that have shaped their lives, discovering unexpected chemistry and a second chance at love while Layla finally faces the lingering pain of her past.
What I’m Watching:
I just finished watching all 15 seasons of ER over the past few months, and I loved every minute of it. I had only seen the first few seasons when it originally aired, so it was fascinating to watch the entire series and see how the emergency room evolved alongside advances in medicine and technology over the years.
I think my next rewatch will be Parenthood. I really enjoyed that series when it first aired, and I’m looking forward to revisiting it.

How wonderful that you were able to reconnect with your friend! Congrats on finishing the ER series, quite an achievement. I think I went the distance with it, too.
