Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club (Hello Sunshine)’s pick for November 2026:
Founded in 2017, Hello Sunshine always chooses books with women at the centre of the story. Their website notes “We make our choices thoughtfully and look for ways to deepen our connection to books, authors and ourselves”. This book club chose “The Great Wherever” by Shannon Sanders as their November 2026 pick.
At thirty-two, Aubrey Lamb is struggling with adulthood, grieving the loss of her father and the end of a serious relationship while facing mounting debt. When she inherits his share of a Tennessee farm, she sees an opportunity for a fresh start, but discovers that the property comes with more than complicated family ties—it’s also home to four opinionated ancestral ghosts. As Aubrey reconnects with her living relatives, she uncovers the farm’s troubled history, beginning with her great-grandfather, one of the first Black landowners in the community, whose dream of creating a family homestead ultimately led to decades of conflict and a devastating tragedy. With the farm facing a potential sale, Aubrey must navigate the secrets, expectations and burdens of her family’s past while deciding what she wants for her own future. Blending humour, grief and a sweeping multigenerational family story, The Great Wherever explores family relationships, identity, loss and the lasting influence of the past.
Good Morning America’s Book Club’s pick:
The GMA Book Club is officially called “Cover to Cover” and was started in the Fall of 2019. Their selections highlight diversity and books are chosen from both fiction and non-fiction genres. The book club chose “Whale Harbor” by Mary Beth Keane as their November 2026 pick.
Set in 1960s Ireland, Whale Harbor follows eleven brothers whose lives take very different paths after a family tragedy. While the younger brothers remain in Ireland, the older ones, including Macdara, emigrate to England and America in search of work and new opportunities. When Macdara leaves for a Montana cattle ranch, he promises his spirited younger brother Rian that he will bring him to America when he is old enough. But when Rian mysteriously disappears, his absence haunts Macdara and the entire family for decades, sparking a lifelong search. Spanning generations and continents, this moving story explores brotherhood, family bonds, loss, and the choices that shape lives across generations.
Read With Jenna (Jenna Bush Hager)’s pick:
In March 2019, the former First Daughter announced her book club on the Today show. Each month she chooses a book that is sure to generate discussion. Jenna chose “Sweet Pea” by Kit De Waal as her November 2026 pick.
When Paulette arrives in England as a young girl, she carries with her the wisdom of her beloved grandmother in St. Kitts, who taught her about love, forgiveness, and kindness. Years later, at twenty-nine, Paulette seems to have the life she always dreamed of, with a loving partner, a baby on the way, and a promising future. But tragedy shatters those plans, leaving her to raise her son, Bird, while grieving the life she might have had. Just as she begins to find her footing, another young boy enters their lives, bringing unexpected connections, laughter, and a renewed sense of purpose. Through motherhood, friendship, and the simple kindness of others, Paulette discovers that even after heartbreak, love can find its way into the most unexpected places.
Oprah’s Book Club:
Oprah Winfrey started this book club in 1996 as a segment on her TV show. Many obscure titles have risen to bestseller status as a result of her picks. This book club does not choose books on a monthly basis but Oprah’s latest pick is “Hungered” by Amanda Rizkalla.
Twelve-year-old Sofia lives with her mother and brother, Rafa, in their car as they travel the West Coast in search of a safe place to sleep each night. Her mother promises that someday they’ll have a home, Sofia will have her own room, return to school, see her friends, and enjoy the simple pleasures she longs for, but for now, Sofia witnesses both kindness and cruelty while struggling to understand her family’s unraveling. As she navigates poverty, displacement, and the uncertainties of growing up without a stable home, Sofia begins to carve out her own sense of identity and belonging. Hungered is a haunting and lyrical exploration of survival, memory, economic insecurity, and the many ways we search for home.
