Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club (Hello Sunshine)’s pick for September 2026:
Founded in 2017, Hello Sunshine always chooses books with women at the centre of the story. Their website notes “We make our choices thoughtfully and look for ways to deepen our connection to books, authors and ourselves”. This book club chose “Big Little Truths” by Liane Moriarty as their September 2026 pick.
Ten years after the events of Big Little Lies, Madeline, Celeste, Jane, Renata, and Bonnie are navigating the new challenges of raising teenagers while still grappling with the secrets of their past. Good Morning America’s Book Club’s pick:
The GMA Book Club is officially called “Cover to Cover” and was started in the Fall of 2019. Their selections highlight diversity and books are chosen from both fiction and non-fiction genres. The book club chose “Under Story” by Chloe Benjamin as their September 2026 pick.
Chloe Benjamin’s Under Story is an intimate yet sweeping love story about science, time, and the limits of human ambition. Biologist Laurel Salter has retreated to an isolated research station in Antarctica, working as a dishwasher after abandoning her once-promising career, marriage, and family. When a mysterious, seemingly living light called the Arc appears across the ice and attracts a team of physicists—including Laurel’s estranged husband, Eli—she becomes convinced it could unlock a way to turn back time and give them another chance at their life together. Read With Jenna (Jenna Bush Hager)’s pick:
In March 2019, the former First Daughter announced her book club on the Today show. Each month she chooses a book that is sure to generate discussion. Jenna chose “The Witches of Cambridge” by Alice Hoffman as her September 2026 pick.
The story follows Ava, a bright young woman from Maine, and Lauren, a rebellious heiress, as they meet at Radcliffe College in 1950s Cambridge and are drawn into the secret Lilith Society, a centuries-old organization of witches descended from women who once defied patriarchal authority. As they discover their magical heritage, the two women develop a powerful friendship and romance while learning to navigate their newfound abilities. Oprah’s Book Club:
Oprah Winfrey started this book club in 1996 as a segment on her TV show. Many obscure titles have risen to bestseller status as a result of her picks. This book club does not choose books on a monthly basis but Oprah’s latest pick is “Little Wonder” by Sophie Chen Keller.
When Song, a struggling food delivery worker from northeastern China, loses her musically gifted son, River, in the chaos of a crowded Beijing train station, their lives are forever changed. Separated for years, mother and son each navigate hardship, loss, and hope while searching for a way back to one another. Little Wonder is a moving and uplifting novel about the enduring bond between parent and child, the transformative power of music, and the resilience of the human spirit.
