My Week:
It’s been a somewhat cooler week than usual for this time of year, with very little, if any, rain. The forecast calls for temperatures to return to more seasonal norms over the coming week, although there is still little rain expected.
Once again, there are many wildfires burning across the province, forcing people from their homes and, in some cases, destroying them. Air quality has deteriorated in parts of the province, and my thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by these fires. I know it’s only a matter of time before the winds shift and the air quality here is affected as well.
Last weekend, we attended a celebration of life for my uncle, who passed away in June. It was lovely to see my aunt and cousins, whom I hadn’t seen since my dad’s celebration of life last September. It was a meaningful afternoon filled with stories, laughter, and fond memories of a wonderful man.
On Tuesday, I took my mom to a medical appointment. As I write this on Friday morning, we’re getting ready to take my brother to the hospital for hand surgery.
Other than doing chores, exercising, and picking up groceries, it has been a relatively quiet and uneventful week.
Recent Additions To My Bookshelf:
From Audible:

Haunted by regrets they can’t leave behind, Celeste Varick and Everett Ludlow independently travel to a remote island on Lake Michigan in search of the world’s last remaining wormholes, each hoping to change the course of their lives—Celeste by fixing her past and Everett by saving someone in his future. As they join forces to navigate the island’s wilderness, an unexpected connection begins to grow, forcing them to choose between risking everything for a second chance through time or embracing the possibility of happiness together in the present.
Future Releases Added to My TBR:

When Tess and her best friend Carys meet Spencer and his witty friend Ryan aboard the Caledonian Sleeper en route to a wedding in Scotland, an instant connection sparks between Tess and Ryan. But after a shocking turn of events changes everything, their budding romance is cut short before it can truly begin. Over the next decade, their lives continue to intersect at milestone celebrations and life-changing moments, with fate repeatedly bringing them together just as the timing seems wrong. Blending humour, heart, and romance, this is a moving story about friendship, missed opportunities, and whether two soulmates can ever find the right moment to be together. Expected publication: February 16.

After ending a suffocating relationship, Soli is determined to embrace a carefree, commitment-free life—until her runaway teenage nephew arrives on her doorstep seeking refuge, and a flooded apartment leaves them without a home. When her kind-hearted landlord, Ethan, a scarred single father juggling parenthood and his business, offers for them to stay with him and his young daughter while the apartment is repaired, Soli reluctantly accepts. As the unlikely household grows closer, Soli begins to question her fear of putting down roots, while a slow-burn romance blossoms between two people who never expected to find family, healing, and love in each other. Expected publication: March 16.
What I’m Watching:
We watched two thrillers on Netflix this week: His & Hers (based on the novel by Alice Feeney which I enjoyed) and The Watcher which is based on a true story. I highly recommend both of these series to anyone who loves a good thriller. I’m also enjoying the Prime series Elle which is the prequel to the 2001 movie Legally Blonde.

I hope your brother’s surgery went well. Elle sounds interesting, I loved Legally Blond. I hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks Cindy. So far so good with my brother’s surgery.

Even though it’s sad and I’m truly sorry for your losses I like the idea of a celebration of life. We don’t really have that here. I’ve Got You sounds great, I love a slow burn and a story that is more than physical attraction alone. I enjoyed His&Hers too (though I loved the book more) and I’ll look up The Watcher. I really appreciate you mentioned the platform you watched it on btw.
